Artistic talent has been praised at the Gunnedah Conservatorium End of Year Showcase.
Featuring more than 20 performances by individuals and groups from across the Gunnedah community, the concert celebrated the conservatorium’s continued musical achievement.
Gunnedah Conservatorium director Rebecca Ryan was unavailable to attend due to a prior commitment but offered her congratulations to all participants via a video message.
“We are a great collective and have great outcomes,” she said.
“I hope you continue to make music with us and look forward to seeing you in 2024.
“Keep making music because it’s what makes life great.”
Evening highlights included Lucy Furner’s recital of ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’ on the piano. The conservatorium’s youngest members performed ‘Silent Night’ before joining a theatrical display of ‘Kung-Fu Fighting’. Meanwhile, Daniel Schweitzer-Ashford played ‘Pink Panther’ and Rebecca Sams sung ‘All I Want’. The Singalongs transported the audience back in time for its rendition of ‘Moon River’ before the community choir delivered a Christmas carol medley to finish the night’s performances.
