St Joseph’s parishioners were saddened to hear news of the imminent departure of their much-loved Sisters of Mercy, Sr Christine Belling and Sr Gabrielle Foley.
Sr Christine will be moving to Casino to be closer to her family while Sr Gabrielle will be moving to Newcastle.
The Sisters have been involved in the parish for decades after both having teaching careers that included at St Mary’s College.
While plans are underway for a farewell as the Sisters move on to this next phase in their lives, parishioners are grateful that Sr Regina McInerney will remain in the town residing in the Village Homes complex.
A morning tea will be held in St Joseph’s Hall after 8:30am Mass on Sunday, February 4, and everyone who knew the Sisters and would like to say goodbye is invited to attend.
