Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson took on his alter ego at the Country Music Festival, dusting off his guitar to sing at the Reg Lindsay Country Homestead All Star Show compered by broadcaster Jon Wolfe.

Held at the Tamworth Jockey Club, the musical MP sang the Buck Owens classic Act Naturally in front of an energetic crowd, with the All Star Show also featuring Kirsty-Lee Akers, Louis Burt, Ross McGregor, Bill and Tracey Rowland, Justin Standley, The Long & Short Of It Band plus Dave and Patsy.

Outside of his parliamentary duties, Kevin Anderson plays rhythm guitar and sings with his mates in their popular local band, Splashpool in his spare time.

“All artists performed some of Reg’s hits and classics along with their own material,” Reg’s widow Ros Lindsay said.

“The audience included a ‘Reg’ bus group of fans who travelled from Sydney by coach with a tour guide.

“It was a welcome return for Justin Standley after a short break from the show and the crowd enjoyed seeing him again.

“It was very special to hear Kirsty-Lee Akers do an old favourite of Reg’s, Could I Have This Dance, along with Louis Burt featuring one of Reg’s top songs Country All The Way which I co-wrote with Reg.”

The Reg Lindsay tour group also took the opportunity to visit the Reg Lindsay Memory Barn near Spring Ridge on their way home and enjoyed taking in all of Reg’s memorabilia including guitars, fiddles, Golden Guitars, Gold Records and many photos and awards from the start of Reg’s career to his last recordings.
