Thunderstorms and heavy rain rolled through the Gunnedah region late last week.

Gunnedah Airport recorded 22.5mm of rain last Thursday by the official Bureau of Meteorology figures, followed by 8mm overnight into Friday.

Across town at the Gunnedah Resource Centre station, 21mm and 34mm were recorded over the same days.

Small hail was also reported in parts of Gunnedah and surroundings villages.

The wet weather change brought cool conditions as the maximum temperature in Gunnedah dropped by more than six degrees over two days.

It is Gunnedah’s only rainfall recorded so far for September.

The warm Spring conditions are expected to continue for the remainder of the week with sunny days and top temperatures between 26 and 23 degrees.
