About 50 competitors took part in the Forever 20 Legacy Loop Roping event at the Gunnedah-based Thornhill Roping venue on July 20.
The event marked the one-year anniversary of the death of local cowboy identity Blake Hawkins, with many of his family and friends gathering at Thornhill for the occasion.
Barrel races, breakaway roping and team roping events took place.
Attire included black-coloured full-buttoned shirts and blue jeans, with the shirts a symbol of respect while the jeans resembled what Blake used to wear.
Participants came from Gunnedah, Tamworth and Singleton, and others came from the Caboolture region in Queensland.
