Tara Wilkinson-Ryan bagged four tries as the Gunnedah Bulldogs amassed a 60-0 win against the Wee Waa Panthers in Group 4 leaguetag action at Kitchener Park last Sunday.

There was some confusion with the scoring, as Gunnedah was originally credited with a 52-0 victory while one try and two conversions were not recorded.

Group 4 reviewed the game, following a request from the Bulldogs.

With the fixture relocated from Wee Waa to Gunnedah along with the rugby league matches, the Bulldogs piled on 11 unanswered tries in the 50-minute contest.

Zoe Fleming, Wilkinson-Ryan, Marlee Urquhart, Jacqui Jones and Zara Mannion scored a try each in the first 13 minutes, but Mannion’s four-pointer was not recorded.

The scoring rate stalled for a little while before another barrage of tries unfolded, with Wilkinson-Ryan notching her second touchdown for the day before Tarryn Heinrich crossed the stripe.

Urquhart and Fleming completed a double each, before Wilkinson-Ryan scored the final two four-pointers.

Wilkinson-Ryan also scored four tries against Wee Waa back on May 25, when the Bulldogs won 48-0.

Last Sunday’s result left the fifth-placed Gunnedah two points outside the top four, with the Bulldogs battling to enter the finals race.
