Gunnedah-based swimmer Banjo Fitzgerald recently received $750 from the John Longmuir Foundation to go towards his trip to Victoria next month.
Banjo will represent NSW in the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships for the 10 to 12 years age group in Ballarat, from October 25 to 29.
Banjo is set to compete in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle events, as well as two relays.
John Longmuir Foundation secretary Maryanne Perkins presented a cheque to Banjo, and told him all of Gunnedah is right behind him.
Maryanne said the committee encouraged any Gunnedah resident representing NSW or a national Australian team to reach out, as funding was available for people who meet specific criteria.
