Gunnedah Public School’s transition to kindergarten sessions have started and the students are enjoying getting to know their new friends, teachers, school surroundings and routines.
Meanwhile, late last month the school’s debating team took part in their first round of the Premier’s Debating Challenge facing off against Gunnedah South Public School.
Each team was given one hour to prepare arguments on a chosen topic from a selected list. The topic was ‘Primary schools should have a video games room which students can use during breaks or when they finish their work early.’ Our team proudly argued the affirmative side.
Both teams presented strong and thoughtful arguments, making it a lively and engaging debate. Although Gunnedah South emerged victorious, Gunnedah Public students demonstrated great skill and enthusiasm throughout.
The school congratulated Isabella Kelly, Freya Appleyard, Phebee Beasley and Zavannah Lodge for their impressive efforts and sportsmanship in this exciting competition.
