The Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce Next Gen and Health Connect sub-committees are proud to announce an inspiring new partnership that will bring fresh energy, support, and innovation to the health industry across the region.
This initiative, while led by Next Gen, is designed to nurture the wellbeing of health professionals of any age (and stage in their career) while also building a sustainable, resilient healthcare community for the future.
Healthcare is at the heart of every thriving community, yet the demands placed on professionals in this field are immense. Stress, burnout, and long hours can take their toll, often leaving those who dedicate their lives to caring for others with little time to focus on their own wellbeing. Recognising this challenge, Next Gen and Health Connect are joining forces to create opportunities that strengthen both professional and personal resilience.
This initiative has three key goals:
• Connection and networking: Building relationships among health professionals to foster collaboration and mutual support.
• Professional development: Offering access to resources, workshops, and learning opportunities that allow practitioners to grow and thrive in their roles.
• Holistic wellbeing: Prioritising the mental, physical, and emotional health of those who serve our community every day.
Together, Next Gen and Health Connect aim to create a culture where healthcare workers feel supported, empowered, and able to sustain long, fulfilling careers in our community.
All local health professionals are invited to the first wellbeing event – Self-Care for Health Professionals on Thursday October 2.
Location: 360 Health Clinic – 326 Conadilly Street, Gunnedah Time: 5.30-7.30pm.
Attendees do not need to fit the Next Gen criteria (18 – 35 years) or be a Chamber of Commerce member to attend this event.
Hosted by 360 Health Clinic, the evening will begin with an optional 30-minute gentle Pilates flow – the perfect way to release tension from the work day and reconnect with your body.
Afterwards, participants can enjoy networking over delicious canapés provided by The Verdict and light refreshments – a chance to meet peers, share experiences, and build connections in a relaxed, supportive environment.
The highlight of the evening will be guest speaker Amanda Balcombe from Still Wellness, who will deliver an engaging and insightful session on stress and burnout. Amanda will explore the realities of burnout within healthcare, how to recognise the early signs, and practical strategies for managing stress in demanding roles. With her depth of experience, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach that will resonate with anyone working in the health sector.
By prioritising the wellbeing of health professionals, Next Gen and Health Connect are setting the stage for a stronger, more sustainable future for healthcare in Gunnedah. Spaces are limited and attendees are encouraged to book early. This is an opportunity to pause, connect, and recharge – because you care for others every day, and now it’s time to care for you too.
