Communities from across the North West region came together at this year’s Fiesta La Peel in Tamworth to celebrate multiculturalism.

The celebration included vibrant dance and delicious food from around the world.

Among the highlights were performances by Gunnedah’s Agnes Thurston, Salote Thurston and Katrina Haenga, who proudly showcased their Tahitian and Maori culture through traditional dance. This year was the 12th edition of the festival, described as the New England’s largest multicultural event. Events in previous years have featured nationalities such as Laotian, Thai, Chinese, Hungarian, Persian, Iranian, Indian, North American, South American, Taiwanese, Australian, Polish, Filipino, Nepalese, Italian, German, and Spanish influences.
