Julia Withers loves her rhubarb but never has she grown it this well.

The Gunnedah gardener recently brought in this spectacular bunch of vibrant red stalks to show the Gunnedah Times.

The Gunnedah Times’ staff might be mere amateurs when it comes to gardening (let’s not mention the indoor pot plant that’s been resuscitated a few times already) but Julia certainly looks like she is on to a winner with her rhubarb.

According to healthline.com, rhubarb is a good source of antioxidants, vitamin K, and fibre but importantly, the leaves are toxic and should never be eaten.

Rhubarb stalks are commonly cooked with sugar to sweeten and added to desserts. Julia said she usually processes the vegetable in a similar manner.
