Multiple storms in the Gunnedah area have caused damage to homes, with its most recent one on Tuesday having the Gunnedah SES respond to 11 call outs.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds, large hailstone and heavy rainfall earlier this week.

Wind gusts at Gunnedah Airport were recorded at 85km/h at 3.30pm on Tuesday.

Among call outs for help were; a roof part which blew off in Bloomfield Street; a roof flapping in Little Barber Street and; shadesails that blew off in the wind in Marquis Street.

Further out to Tamworth, a trampoline went into a neighbouring property on Banks Street in Westdale, while a wall of a factory collapsed in Avro Street in Taminda.

A NSW SES spokesperson said most call outs were for fallen trees, branches and minor roof damage.

“Since midday on Tuesday, the SES has received around 464 calls for assistance,” the spokesperson said.

“The hardest-hit areas include Tamworth, with 115 incidents, and Muswellbrook, with 47.”

Powerlines had been brought

down from the storms, and the SES reminded residents to stay clear and report any issues to their electricity company.

Crews remained on the ground to respond to calls for assistance throughout the region on Tuesday.

The NSW SES has advised people to monitor conditions and follow the advice of emergency services as storm warnings continue.
