About 60 children gathered at the Wolseley Park tennis courts from Tuesday to Thursday last week for the Louis Tennis Academy holiday clinic.
Aged from four to 15 years, the participants included first-timers and regulars at the school holiday clinics while this time there was a French Open theme.
Footwork and balance were the focus on day one, and then the next day focused on sliding and rallying before the final day involved matches as well as non-tennis fun games.
The youngsters enjoyed a water pistol fight and running activities on day three, before the final matches were played to determine the top placegetters.
Louis Tennis Academy owner and event organiser Craig Louis said it was important to play fun games, as the youngsters wanted to have a fun time during the school holidays.
“It was great to see the players really embrace the clay court style theme, working hard, competing well, and most importantly enjoying their tennis in a positive and energetic environment,” he said.
“The improvement across the week was fantastic, and the effort and attitude from all players was outstanding.”
