Proposed $10 million development for Gunnedah CBD

A $10 million development is being proposed in the Gunnedah’s CBD. Plans for a lifestyle and retail precinct, named Eucalypt in honour of the koala capital title, will soon be submitted to Gunnedah Shire Council. The development is planned for 372, 374, 376 Conadilly Street and 151, 153, 155 Little Conadilly Street. The project proponent, Stripes Group, predicts the development will create about 40 temporary construction jobs and more than 100 jobs when completed. Decades of Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s Gunnedah Support Group volunteer service recognised

Volunteers from Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s Gunnedah Support Group acknowledged a collective 120 years between 11 of its members last week. Those who achieved 20, 10 and five years milestones with the charity group received a pin in recognition of their services. Other members showed their support with a morning tea at the Gunnedah Rural Health Centre, where the group meets. The biggest milestone celebrated was 20 years belonging to Heather and John Stephens. Anzac speeches recognise veteran battles after service

The speeches of Adam Arndell and Marie Hobson came from two different lives lived but both conveyed a similar message – challenges of veterans do not end when service ends. The two were guest speakers at the Gunnedah RSL Sub-Branch Anzac Day lunch at Club Gunnedah. Mr Arndell had already spoken earlier that day at the Anzac service but those at the lunch learnt more of his story. He had started his journey in the military as a cadet at Knox Grammar School.
