The Gunnedah Bulldogs and Boggabri Kangaroos rugby league and leaguetag teams are waiting to see if they will be able to play this weekend, following washed out fixtures last weekend and ongoing flooding this week.

Boggabri is scheduled to contest Kootingal-Moonbi at Kootingal Sports Ground on Saturday, while Gunnedah is scheduled to host North Tamworth at Kitchener Park on Sunday.

Players and supporters are advised to check the social media pages of the Gunnedah and Boggabri rugby league clubs, to stay updated with the situation for this weekend’s matches.

The Bulldogs and Kangaroos first graders were set to contest the Boyde Campbell Cup at Kitchener Park last Saturday, before torrential rain prompted the fixtures to be called off.

Moree defeated North Tamworth 20-4 in Group 4 first grade action at the Moree-based Boughton Oval last Saturday while the fixtures at Gunnedah, Dungowan and Kootingal were washed out.

The washed out fixtures have been postponed to the weekend of August 16 and 17, with the Bulldogs and Kangaroos to face off on August 16.

The finals series has been pushed back a week, with week one of the play-offs moved from August 16-17 to August 23-24 while the grand final is moved from August 30 to September 6.
