Former pupils of St Xavier’s School and St Mary’s College are invited to get their classes together and have a “reunion within the reunion” in Gunnedah on October 11-12.

This reunion is for all past pupils from across the generations – partners of ex-students are most welcome.

The celebration will begin with a dinner on the Saturday, at Club Gunnedah (formerly Gunnedah Services Club).

Those attending are asked to gather in the auditorium from 6pm for greetings and pre-dinner drinks, with the entrée to be served at 7pm. Drinks are available from the bar at the Club. The cost of the reunion dinner will be $50 per head with any surplus used to cover the honour prizes for current students donated by the ex-students each year.

For those who wish to attend, Sunday morning Mass will be held at St Joseph’s Church at 8.30am, with ex-students involved in the readings, offertory procession and Special Ministers of the Eucharist. Following the Mass a cup of tea will be available in the church hall.

A sausage sizzle (gold coin donation) will be held in the grounds of St Mary’s College starting at approximately 11am. This gives those who wish to travel that afternoon time to mingle with friends and for lunch with plenty of time to travel before dark. Memorabilia will be on display in the library and other areas of the college.

The organising committee of Marie Hobson (Campbell) Jacinta Stanley (Gaynor), Cathy Smith (Loudon) and John Campbell are hoping for a great turnout as the last planned reunion had to be cancelled due to COVID.

To register, email [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) for a booking form or write to John at 130 Barber Street, Gunnedah 2380. For catering purposes RSVP by September 27. See today’s classifieds for more details.
