A loved AgQuip tradition was revived on Monday, with NightQuip returning but this time to Club Gunnedah’s green.
The market style event was typically held on Conadilly Street and hosted by either the Gunnedah Shire Council or Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce.
Tammey McAllan and Kate McGrath were brainstorming ideas, discussing the shame it was that NightQuip was in retirement.
It was then a eureka moment of, ‘why not have it at Club Gunnedah?’ that sparked action.

On board were Club Gunnedah, ETC Self Employmet Assistance and Workforce Australia but this year’s NightQuip had additions to give it a new personality.
Monday night saw local stallholders, free lawn bowls, band entertainment, a jumping castle, bar and barbecue.
For those who wanted to slow down, local artist Fonda Shae hosted a paint and sip next door in the Bowling Auditorium.
Even charities were involved with Pink Up collecting money for two-year-old cancer patient Tori Kember and Beyond Blue raising money at the barbecue.
Tammey described the night as “something for everyone” that targeted a wide range of people.
Tammey said the club would look at hosting NightQuip on the Greens again, maybe looking at bringing in different charities.
“It was something to give back to the community,” she said.
“It was a trial this year and we would love to get information back from the community and create more events that suit it.”
The club hoped the free lawn bowls would entice new people to try the sport and with new bowls coordinator Wayne Hosking at the club it was an opportunity for an introduction.
He has come to Gunnedah with experience from Charlestown.
Also provided were children’s rubber lawn bowls, hoping for a younger audience to get involved.
“We’ve got so much talent in Gunnedah, so it would be good to get little lawn bowlers and make it fun for all ages,” Tammey said.
