From AgQuip stalls to its ‘Country of Study’, it has been a busy few weeks for Gunnedah Country Women’s Association.

Members assisted during the week of AgQuip, which despite the wet weather, was described as a great event for the organisation.

The Namoi Group oversaw CWA’s participation at AgQuip but all branches were involved with handicraft, cooking cakes and slices, jam and cream scones, jams and pickles as well as providing the hospitality.

All profit from this event assisted school and medical scholarships in the local area.

This year Gunnedah CWA studied Korea for its ‘Country of Study’ where members learnt about their culture, history, government, education, climate and much more.

The CWA celebrated International Day with members enjoying lunch at the Korean restaurant with invited guests Mr Hongjoo Park, Mrs Gyllium Go and children Laon and Sia.

Mr Hongjoo explained a lot more about his country and members enjoyed an interesting day.

The Group Cultural and International Day is being held in the Mullaley Hall this month.

Meanwhile in October, the CWA will host a fund-raiser for local child Tori Kember – who was recently diagnosed with liver cancer.

A morning tea and other activities are also planned for this event.
