Junior athletes rewarded at presentation

Cooper Galton was named ‘athlete of the year’, as Gunnedah Little Athletics held its end-of-year presentation night at Gunnedah Rugby Club last month.

Cooper was also named U14 boys age champion while also winning the award for club highest points score.

Lacie Kleinschafer won the president’s award and was the U17 girl age champion runner-up, while another high achiever was Oscar Watkins.

In addition to having the club’s most personal bests, Oscar also won the ‘consistent effort’ and ‘most personal bests’ in the senior boys age group.

Awards, certificates and tiny tots medals were presented, and all athletes received a participation certificate which recognised their season statistics including their personal bests.
