Turner Cycles – Gunnedah – is your local bike shop offering a wide range of bicycles and supplies.
The locally-owned, family-run business has been operating in Gunnedah since the 1930s and has been at its current site for more than 35 years.
Recently rebranded as Turner Cycles, the Gunnedah store caters to all the needs of a cycling family – starting from 12-inch balance bikes up to dual suspension mountain bikes.
Racing and triathlon bikes are also available across many brands including Giant, Norco, Merida and Malvern Star. In a nod to its motorcycle heritage, Turner Cycles is also continuing to stock motorcycle parts and accessories such as boots, helmets, gloves, goggles, pants and tops in the popular O’Neal brand as well as many other parts.
For your mowing needs, Turner Cycles also stocks oils, plugs, blades, air and oil filters. Owner-operators Garry and Angie Turner are passionate about their local community.
“We really appreciate the support people in Gunnedah have shown us over the years,” Garry said. “It means a lot to us because community is at the heart of everything we do.”
The business has supported many young apprentices over the years.
Gunnedah’s Bailey Harris is the latest to join the team at Turner Cycles and is also a regular on the local mountain bike scene.
Garry has also been a prominent part of the local road racing circuit for many years including the annual Coonabarabran-Gunnedah Sundowner Classic, north west triathlons and regional mountain bike events, among others.
“Cycling is such a great sport and it’s good for your health too,” Garry said.
“We have many keen cyclists in town and we have training rides 5.30am Tuesday and Thursday mornings as well as weekend rides and racing. The mountain bike riders are up at Blackjack all the time.”
