Goodness and Gracious celebrated 15 years in business last week with champagne and nibbles for everyone in the Conadilly Street store.
What started out for owner Susie Martin as Beadiful Designs 19 years ago has expanded into a thriving business with stores in Gunnedah and Quirindi and a wonderful new addition in Goodness and Gracious Outdoor and Florist.
As a young Mum, Susie was making hand-crafted jewellery but always had a yearning to have her own store so when Classic Visions closed, she took a giant leap of faith on May 1, 2007, and launched
Goodness and Gracious, offering women and children’s clothing, shoes and a range of giftware.
Five years ago, the store grew again when Fogarty Fotos moved premises and Susie was able to open her first Christmas Shop which operates from October to December each year.
A nurse for 10 years, Susie looks back over the years with great affection and amazement at what has been achieved.
“I could not have done it without the support of my family and friends and my awesome staff,” Susie said.
“We have had our ups and downs with the drought, and COVID but I really appreciate the support of our loyal customers – they have become our family.
“We have met many wonderful people and we also have an online presence with more than 10,000 followers; “I feel humbled by some of the great comments we receive but I never take for granted how lucky I am to have a business in a community like ours, and with the staff I have.”
