Gunnedah’s under 11 representative cricket side took on Inverell at Donnelly Fields on Sunday.
The match also coincided with representative tournament’s Reconciliation Round of play.
The players gathered for a bare foot circle acknowledging the Gamilaroi land and playing their respects to Gamilaroi elders.
Inverell won the toss and elected to field in the 30-over match.
Gunnedah saw the fall of an early wicket after five runs but the run rate increased with top scorers Marnee Walters (17) and Olivia Semmler (14) in the middle.
The Gunnedah side established a total of 80 runs for Inverell to chase.
In the field, Charlette Keeler took two wickets while Harry Langdon, Marnee Walters, Linden Miller and Jai Wilson all took one each.
The catches were taken by Tyler Small and Linden Miller who displayed some impressive skills on the field but it wasn’t enough as Inverell chased down the target with four overs to spare.
This was the final match of the representative cricket season for the under 11 side.
