Geoff Doubleday and Helen Baker took out the annual club foursomes championships at Gunnedah Golf Club on Sunday with the score of 135 points over 27 holes.

Mother-and son duo, Coral and Jack Lorimer, carded 136 points to finish runners-up.

First place in the nett competition went to Cecily Jaeger and Greg Burns (109 ¼), with Coral Lorimer and Jack Lorimer (111 ¼) again teaming up to claim the runners-up prize.

 A field of 94 players took part in Saturday’s competition, a single stableford event sponsored by the ex-captains.

Playing in B Grade, Ethan Ford had the day’s best result with the score of 38 points.

A Grade was won by Rick Sampson (37), on a countback from Stu Carter and Rohan Ford (both 37).

Runners-up in B Grade, were Warren Hinton (35) and Duncan McGregor (34).

John Stanley (37) won C Grade on a three-way count back from Steve Berry and Ian Simpson (37).

 Nearest the pin on the 2nd hole in all grades: Gary Ford, Peter Koch and Brett Reynolds; 7th hole: Jordan Ford;  12th: Brad Hopkins; 16th: Damien Dorrington; 18th: Don Whiteman.

 In the ball competition, balls were won by all players with the score of 37 points or better. 

The mid-week golf fourball winners were Lindsay Johnston and Steve Johnston (52) on a three-way count back from Bruce Higham and Doug Brown (52), Doug Brown and Bill Brady (52).

The singles winner was Steve Johnston (27), ahead of Bruce Higham (26) on a count back from Hayden White (26).
