Letter to the editor: May I through your paper thank the many people who attended the ‘Friends of Porky’ meeting on July 2.
We all understand the true value of Porcupine Lookout and the surrounding range overlooking the Breeza Plains and north to the Kelvin Hills. The link between Nobbys Rock, Mullibah Lagoon, The Wallaby Trap, Porcupine Lookout and the caves and its cultural importance to the Aboriginal people was explained by members of the lands council.
Everyone was in agreeance that it is an under-utilised asset that has ageing infrastructure, noxious weed problems and a fire hazard.
We can only hope that the council as co-managers consult and implement a management plan so that we can move forward.
