Gunnedah horse trainer Sally Torrens earned two runner-up placings in five days, as she had runners in Moree last Friday and Dubbo on Tuesday.
Torrens had runners in races two, five and eight, as eight races were held on a Moree track rated a Good 3.
In race two which was 1400m, the Torrens-trained and Shannen Llewellyn-ridden Harsh Mistress finished just 0.1 of a length behind the victor in a field of nine.
This came six days after the same combination placed runner-up while finishing 0.2 of a length behind another Torrens-trained horse, Ready To Mingle, at Armidale.
Race five at Moree also had a field of nine while the distance was 1300m, with the Torrens-trained and Llewellyn-ridden Keroessa placing eighth.
In the final race at Moree, the Torrens-trained and Llewellyn-ridden Gold Smiles placed last in a field of 10 while the distance was 1400m.
On Melbourne Cup day, Torrens had runners in the first and final events at Dubbo as there were five races on a track rated a Good 4.
Ready To Mingle placed sixth out of nine in the opening race which was 1000m, before the Torrens-trained Via Rose was runner-up while being half a length behind the winner in a field of 10 as the final race was 1600m.
Wendy Peel rode both times for Torrens at Dubbo, after Peter Graham rode Ready To Mingle 10 days earlier.
