Gunnedah Physie enjoyed an outstanding day of competition last Sunday, as a talented group of junior members took to the stage at the 2025 BJP Physical Culture Junior National Championships in Sydney.

Nine girls showcased months of dedication and hard work while representing their club with pride, confidence and excellent sportsmanship.

The 6 years age group featured Gunnedah Physie trio Mila Launders, Elsie Roberts and Chanel Cull, with Mila achieving national finalist recognition while Elsie was a semi-finalist.

The other Gunnedah Physie members were Harper Morris (7 years), Frankie Crane (8 years), Emme Swain (9 years), Imogen Whitby and Bobbie Crane (10 years), and Darcie Crane (12 years).

Gunnedah Physie president Lacie Launders said, “The club extends a heartfelt congratulations to all competitors who qualified for nationals this year; a remarkable achievement in itself.

“Reaching this level is a milestone that reflects not only talent, but persistence, discipline and a love for physie.

“Gunnedah Physie is incredibly proud of every dancer who stepped out on the prestigious national floor.”

Lacie said Mila’s and Elsie’s success marked a proud moment for the club, with Mila’s standout performance securing a place in the final which was an achievement that Gunnedah Physie had not celebrated for quite some time.

Lacie also said Elsie’s dancing earned her a well-deserved spot in the semi-final round.

“Every Gunnedah Physie competitor gave their absolute best on the day, dancing with grace, determination and the supportive spirit the club is known for,” Lacie said.

“The committee, teachers and families are exceptionally proud of the way each girl represented Gunnedah on the national stage.”
