Bridge players enjoy social day with Tamworth

The Gunnedah Bridge Club hosted another enjoyable social day on Monday 21 September, welcoming 22 players who travelled from Tamworth to join local members. With strong numbers from Gunnedah as well, a total of 12 tables were in play at the Gunnedah Shire Band Hall, which once again proved an ideal venue for the event.   Adding to the day’s hospitality, ladies from the Gunnedah Red Cross catered for the players, providing a delicious and varied spread for the luncheon. Harry Wilson captains Wallabies to emphatic win against Springboks

Former Gunnedah Red Devil Harry Wilson has captained the Wallabies to a rousing win against back-to-back world champions South Africa. The Wallabies returned to Australia to take on the Springboks at Perth’s Optus Stadium. In a dramatic thriller, the Wallabies defeated the Springboks 42–38 to reclaim the Mandela Challenge Plate for the first time since 2022. Jacob Martin going from strength to strength in bowls

Gunnedah junior lawn bowler Jacob Martin is enjoying a period of great success in the sport, travelling the country for tournaments as well as being announced as a nominee for a state bowling honour. Bowls NSW will hold its annual awards presentation later this month, with Jacob a nominee for Male Junior Bowler of the Year.
