Kayla Kelaher is breaking new ground in the traditionally, male-dominated industrial sector.
Established in 2020 after the success of Kelaher Instrumentation and Electrical, Kelaher Industrial Services has grown from a staff of just three to now employing almost 30 across the business.
Despite being one of the few woman-led, industrial businesses in the region, Mrs Kelaher has had a great reception.
“Clients have been great about it, very welcoming,” she said.
Kelaher Industrial Services (KIS) is a steel fabrication, construction, repairs and maintenance business servicing Gunnedah and surrounding areas.
Services are delivered from a well-equipped workshop on Martin Road in Gunnedah or mobile service facility.
Their services span all plant and equipment from standalone fabrication or repair, to a total turn-key solution integrating electrical and construction.
The company caters to projects of any size in any industry including mining, oil and gas, agriculture, construction, communications and more.
Mrs Kelaher has been encouraged by the strong support of her peers among her Gunnedah businesswomen.
“We have a strong business community here in Gunnedah,” she said.
“Quite a few businesses led by women are really pushing the envelope.”
She also wished others looking to get a start in business to give it a shot.
“I feel it’s important to get out there because anything is possible,” she said.
Mrs Kelaher said the Kelaher Group genuinely believes that there is no job too small or too big and that there is no trade it wouldn’t attempt to provide.
“We always strive to exceed our clients’ expectations and provide a service that is second to none, after all they are the reason we are in business,” she said.
“Here at Kelaher Group we pride ourselves on being a locally owned and operated businesses and we thank all the industries and community of Gunnedah which have shown us exceptional support in recent years.”
