Three students from Gunnedah South Public School, Arabella Holmes, Sienna Swain and Marnee Walters, are this week representing the North West region at the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (NSWPSSA) girls cricket team selection trials in Sydney.

The 2022 NSWPSSA Girls Cricket Championship was set to be held in Barooga this year but was cancelled due to the extreme weather.

Although disappointing for the girls, NSWPSSA has provided this exciting opportunity for selected players to attend a two-day development
program. The coaching clinic involves training with NSW head coaches and managers in the new Cricket Central Facility located at Sydney Olympic Park.

Ninety-eight players from across the state took part and had an exciting opportunity to meet Sydney Thunder players including all-rounder, Hannah Darlington and wicket keeper, Tahlia Wilson.

Following the trials, a team of 12 players will be selected to represent NSWPSSA at the upcoming School Sport Australia Championship at Ballarat later this month.
