The fundraising garage sale on Saturday in Boggabri for Liam Hobden was nothing short of amazing.
Liam’s family and friends had spent days and days sorting and pricing the mountains of goods that were donated.
At 6.30am doors opened and the public showed why Boggabri is known as, ‘the little town with a big heart’.
“I’m still wrapping my head around the generosity of every single person who donated goods for Liam’s fundraising garage sale,” Stacie Hobden said.
“We had been given so much beautiful stuff, literally everything and the laundry sink – not the kitchen.
“We had so many people come down yesterday and buy something, if there wasn’t anything there, they would donate what they could.
“We have slogged it out the past month sorting through everything and without my beautiful helpers I simply wouldn’t have gotten it done.
“To Jo and Paul, owners of the Boggabri Hardware shop, your generosity in having us there and your extra support has been nothing short of amazing.
“It’s a roller-coaster of emotions, Liam is still too young to fully understand what people have done for us, but our family are just so amazed by it all and forever grateful.”
There was so much donated that the family and helpers returned on Sunday and Stacie will be there again for the next three days.
Not only were there the donated goods but there was a raffle, 100 club, barbecue, donations from the coffee van, and school children who made goods to sell.
